I've had the same reaction to tablets. They're kid of a "tweener" device for me. If I want to, I can surf the web on my phone (Android), but I'm certainly not going to develop anything on a tablet. I take a 15-20 minute ride into the city e

"The question, of course, is why Americans pay such high prices — and why we haven’t done anything about it." This is probably the same reason we've taken close to 40 years to finally try and get off our dependence on foreign oil after Jimm

I've been having the same experience. It's all too clear people are gaming Google to get on the front page. A few years ago, I never had to really search for stuff I wanted on Google. Now, I really have to weed out a lot of useless results

I have started to use CloudFlare on all my sites. It took my sluggish Drupal personal site from a 4.5 second load time down to a paltry 1.6 - 2 second load time. It's also free - and besides making your site faster, also blocks a lot of the

I have the same problems, and have considered dumping my OS (Windows) and re-installing it from scratch just to get rid of the two errors I get constantly. All it does is serve as a reminder not to use or install any other Google app.

An easy way to do this is to have the folded card in your right hand (palmed), you place the ripped pieces in the same hand, but hold them with your fingers. You look like your folding the pieces up, then make the switch as you place it in

There's a myriad of ways to do this, but usually through slight of hand, he slipped you the duplicate card which you thought was the ripped up version - when it reality, was a folded version. Here's a great video of how this is done: http

Agreed. Most attorneys, even back then, usually give you your first consultation free. Attorneys are also supposed to take several cases per year on a pro bono basis. I think this would have been great for both parties. Attorney gets plenty

I found it interesting Appelbaum was so concerned about the government intrusion and collecting of personal data, yet spends several paragraphs about all the regulating the government should do to keep people safe. Unfortunately, you can't

Agreed. Also keep in mind baseball probably keeps track of more stats than any other sport, making it easier to spot potential. I once read an interview with a Major League scout who said he relied heavily on the numbers. He basically said,

I hear a lot of people yelling about this, but is there anybody else who thinks this is totally awesome? To me, this is just more ammunition these companies are giving to the people they're trying to prosecute. And in this case, you actuall

I actually have two points about this. First of all, I still remember reading articles from the 1970's from scientists who were convinced we were headed for another ice age. That's right, another ice age. The exact opposite of the what clim

I used KDE4 when it first came out, but was swayed to use Mint by a co-worker. I haven't been back since. But this is what I love about Linux distro's. You don't have to wait years for the newer versions to come out with the fixes you need.

I had the same reaction. HN is already fairly strict with content. If an article has value, it will be on the front page. Not to mention, most of the stuff I comment on, I want to engage in a decent discussion. If a post doesn't have a lot

I agree. It's 2012 for God's sake, How times do you have to see the commercials and ads about not backing your stuff up before you get a clue?? I would also add if you think using shady file serving companies to store your legitimate files

I would hardly think a developer who's "Founded and grew a business" would be applying at Braintree. Likewise, if Braintree were interested in hiring them, I doubt they could probably afford his/her salary. I would probably have a heart att

Agreed. Drupal has an incredibly steep learning curve. I was told to learn PHP BEFORE using Drupal and it's been a huge advantage. I can't imagine a non-developer trying to change some content or add a feature themselves. Drupal is extremel
