The same way a corporation is a person. It's an abstraction to make rich people richer while limiting liability.

Good point on the existence of the down vote functionality, I've amended my comment above. To your other points though, Github being DDoSed is something I would like to know about, but does not happen so frequently that I should bookma

There is a reason there are controls to allow you to upvote, or downvote stories. If you don't like a story, and have nothing to contribute to the story, downvote it. If the story is in the top few, it's because people (that are

It's done intelligently, so you don't use tables, then you leave out tables.less. If you don't want tabs, then you leave out tabs.js.

I would guess that in the game of spy vs. spy, you never show your hand. If I declare that a chip has a backdoor, then the enemy knows, and won't use it. New chips and doors will be created. But if I sit on it, then the bad guys may

Actually, the article I wanted to see was mentioned above: http://tech.co/treehouse-ipad-app-2013-07 . Coming from a press release, or a quote from the CEO. TNW however did not relay who the quote was coming from, and some

I would like to get an official statement by either company before I jump to conclusions. I seem to recall someone at google claiming that Apple had not yet approved the Maps app and it wasn't even submitted yet. Apple used to do a l

I'm okay with it. Weev is the type of guy I wish was behind bars. He's a stain with no redeeming qualities that I can tell. He takes a lot of joy in causing people pain, and many peoples lives are better with him behind bars.

The two tasks aren't mutually exclusive. If you can only do one, then that's fine, there isn't anything wrong with that. But leadership has nothing to do with a title, so if you weren't leading before you took a leader

How long would you have to run the centrifuge for? If it were 6-7 times faster, you would have to run a machine nonstop for 10 years. Seems like a tremendous waste of energy, heat from a motor which could affect the results, and a great l

I'm confused as to how we went from 1984 being a cautionary tale to 1984 being secretly implemented; and no one seems to give a shit.

Does anyone know why we can't have nice terminal emulators on Windows? I would kill for something that was a fraction as good as the default terms in OSX or Ubuntu. Oh, and if the NSA is listening, I wouldn't actually kill, that&

Even after this explanation, I feel I'm just too dumb to understand the benefit. I'm not being negative, but until I see a real use case, I'm just don't see how this fits.

You think the problem with society is our pattern recognition, and exclusion behaviour? A result of being inundated with perpetual signage which is irrelevant, or inane? Since this is a result of society, why are you getting all blamey?

"hokey team visualization gimics" keep management off the teams ass, so I appreciate a little attention. Though I ultimately agree, there isn't a lot here that's scratching any of our itches.
