You’re implying he used his drone (which he mentions in the list of confiscated stuff) to fly over Area 51 and take aerial photos which he then put on his blog ? He denies that he was the one who took the photos in question …

I had the opposite experience with a large UK corp when moving from self-hosted Gitlab to gitlab.com. Runners were still self hosted, but if the thing controlling them is just giving 500s all day and you’ve no influence on fixing it, then y

Not many tech answers here, but a £100 PC Engines ALIX board from ~2008 is still my home router (software upgraded now and then) in a compact 6x6x1” aluminium case, switchmode DC power supply, read-only root on industrial CF card. Solid as

Great article. The fact we can’t just make and throw up a bunch more pylons and cables alongside existing routes, for anything less than £££bn, is just depressing.

This is a great idea, so long as the same body has the power to decide how the NHS is structured and managed too, free from central government interference. Accountability seems totally absent anyway, so let them just get on with it. The C

I blame NAT. I got online around 1994, behind a corporate firewall through my Dad’s work and it took me ages to work out why no one could reach my web server I was running on that machine, despite getting all the DNS setup right. I think

I’m on the fence about astrobiology, but I’ll go out on a limb and say the solar system is not a connected ecosystem “like Earth”. Any actions we take that ruin parts of the quite likely ecosystem that lives on Mars will have zero effect on

Seconded by a plug-in Prius owner. Sadly the climate control pre-conditioning on the PiP only uses the battery (or mains, if left plugged in) to cool the interior before you set off, not to heat it. I guess this is because it doesn’t have
