Amazon had 13% of global e-commerce: https://www.statista.com/statistics/664814/global-e-commerce... Only Alibaba has more market share than it. But it is indeed quite far from a monopoly.

My guess is they are afraid they might lose Google money if they enable too much freedom. But they have also been losing users, and without users they have no leverage.

One employee quitting means Tesla losing 0.001% of employees. An employee being fired means losing 100% of their income. Clearly there's an asymmetry when negotiating with large companies. Therefore unions are fair.

You probably repeat a large subset of them manually anyway. Automate them and save time. For instance, how many times did someone from Rovio manually shoot an Angry Bird, instead of code doing it?

For this argument to follow, you'd have to know that Angry Birds did not use tests. I know I would have gotten tired of manually launching Angry Birds before getting the physics right.

If the data structures that represent your edge cases are simple, maybe QuickCheck can generate your edge cases. There are equivalent libraries in a lot of languages.

Sure, you could build an index of attribution <> latent space coords, but it would not be clear whether a generated document near several index entries would require compliance. I guess this is where the threshold comes from. Choose a

Suppose Copilot offered some pure-MIT licensed flavor. Copilot could comply with MIT licenses by just outputting an MIT license with ALL the authors of code used in training.

Indeed, that is why I don't use it either. Double-checking whether the generated part is a verbatim copy negates the speed advantage. Possible infringements from similarity are even harder to search.

Thermal conductivity (W/(m⋅K)) is a counterexample. The meter is a trap. You can't just multiply the thickness of the material (scalar meters) to get Watts vs. temperature difference. You need to DIVIDE by it to get conductance (W
