I gave up playing around with AI partly because the drivers are proprietary and not too good. Only in the past year or two has Nouveau developed well enough that some games are playable. But only on cards not enforcing signed firmware. How

For what it's worth, the Ethereum merge was planned years ago (but the concrete release date may have been unknown until recently). Enjoy the GPU glut. I for one am thinking of having fun with Stable Diffusion and the like.

I see a JSON error straight on HTTPS. Must be an API directly. But HTTPS is 443, not 80. The fact that Cloudflare was privy to all Ethereum ecosystem communication with flashbots gives me the heebie jeebies.

I have another question. Why would a centralized relay (flashbots) NOT take advantage of all the orders it processes? As far as I can tell, the MEV has just moved from the miners to the flashbot(s?).

You are correct. Reminds me of "negative GDP growth", one of the most roundabout ways to say "wealth creation slowdown".

I agree completely, and I am disappointed that so many projects start which have no benefit from the computation redundancy (yet will have to pay for it).

I'd guess: Fourier transform, a power density preserving blur convolution, then inverse Fourier transform. But I am not familiar with the field of signal processing.

This project still has a good bang for the time or money buck. Life has compromises. You do give up some things to build a perfect studio.

A factory reset unapplies all updates. But for instance, Chrome will auto-update even without you being logged into a Google account.

To me, there's Hacker News, Stack Exchange sites, and the Fediverse. When Reddit chose to cater to "normies", I was fine with it. But when they started to become hostile to techies (the insulting mobile and new web experience

You could cut other taxes. Or you could remove the received funds from existence (such as by paying down government debt). But fact is, greenhouse gases have the potential to end humanity, and the US is not addressing them enough.

Even better would be to tax all industries fairly, according to their greenhouse gas emissions. Or even energy production directly. The US is the second largest polluter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_

On the other hand, the government moves slowly. I argue that, since mining is done in the US, mining is clearly providing more value than the electricity used, since it continues. The power use is just an excuse. Of course, the price of ele

Ah yes, let's ban random uses of electricity, instead of addressing the root cause: actual emissions being taxed or limited.

A much fairer law would tax all emissions. But the fossil lobby threw PoW under the bus as a red herring.
