The MP02 looks like it has a lot of software issues at the moment. Take a read of the threads at https://www.reddit.com/r/Punkt/ .

The author talks about using SHA-256 as a password hashing algorithm. This doesn’t inspire confidence in the rest of the piece. tptacek in 2016 on peppers: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12550375 The current best pra

I assume that there would be some rate limiting and anti-abuse measures here, like most Google products have. It’s a good question though.

It seems like Amazon may think so, with this line: > Amazon DocumentDB implements the Apache 2.0 open source MongoDB 3.6 API by emulating the responses that a MongoDB client expects from a MongoDB server

I think it is likely it was the other way around. MongoDB caught wind of what AWS was about to release and changed the license.

I'll make a plug for https://sfconservancy.org who sponsor many open source projects including Clojars (which I'm a maintainer of), and Clojurists Together. They do great work and deserve your support.

I'm not saying that every single person stops reading at the first answer, just that people drop off over the page, and in my personal experience (and talking with others), it is common to miss that there are higher ranked answers belo

People definitely stop reading after the first answer, especially if it looks like a reasonable solution. It is a very common experience for me, where I won't realise that there is a much better rated answer below the accepted one, esp

I've been using https://www.sanebox.com which does a pretty good job of the bundling, leaving you with just the important stuff in your inbox. It's not as well integrated as Inbox could be, but I find it very usable, a

This took about 30 seconds to fact check. Google offers an n1-standard-32 with 32GB RAM, and Azure offers A4MS and B4MS with 32GB of RAM. I can't even find any instances from either provider for 28 or 30 GB. https://cloud.

Perhaps I misunderstood this line then? > The machine that this happened on is an NFS client and (as is usual) its UID 0 is mapped to an unprivileged UID on our fileservers. On this machine there were some FUSE mounts in the home directo

The other part necessary to trigger the bug is that uid 0 is not root and is not able to read the user-only mounts. root would still be able to read the user-only FUSE mount.

There's no inherent reason that the whole life cycle can't be handled in a single tool. However, there have been tens of thousands of person-years spent on these tools, so people here are pointing out that it is a tall ask for an

I’m guessing here but given the target of macOS this is done to prevent the GPU from being used. Many apps on macOS can do their drawing on the CPU or via the onboard Intel graphics. Metal presumably would force the GPU on, which would impa

This is purely additive. If you don’t want to look at these metrics, you don’t need to, but if they would be helpful to you, then you can. Speaking as a GCP customer, I’m very glad these are available. It means that I will more easily be ab

A few months ago Intel pulled a stunt where they showed a 28 core 5GHz CPU, implying it was a production CPU that would ship this year. They failed to mention that it was attached to an industrial compressor to supply the necessary cooling
