Did any of them try it? Just because you sign something doesn't mean you can be held to it. It would be worth a try.

Executives make multiples of those numbers. Why should it be unheard of that any software developer ever make that?

"There are two types of companies: those that work hard to charge customers more, and those that work hard to charge customers less. Both approaches can work. We are firmly in the second camp." I've always had a lot of respect for Bezos and

When I use Handbrake to rip directly from DVD to Apple TV format the video comes out at just over 700 megs.

How would Samsung fight on price here? Amazon is using the Fire as a loss leader. They very likely lose money on every sale. But they make it up on extra Amazon conversions. What would Samsung make up their losses on?

Well, the important thing is to learn and adjust. Remember; if you are good but underpricing you are not just hurting yourself. Your potentially hurting every local person in the same space by decreasing the value of those services.

I understand you're not bashing other languages, I just get tired of these tautologies getting trotted out anytime someone complains about perl so I decided to challenge them. >The author claims that where most people write C in Perl, h

Show me a modern, general purpose language for which there isn't more than one way to do most things and I'll show you a language you don't know very well. Even Python, who's motto would be closer to "one right way to do it" always has more

So, it's a general purpose programming language like a lot of other languages are too? The complaint is obviously that Perl is uglier than it needs to be. You can see this when you compare it to other languages that are just as (if not mo

This is a myth. What about the employees? We are also getting vastly more done with vastly less. Why is it only the CEO's that are seeing the benefit of scale here. The reason the salary increase has been concentrated on the top and ne

Smalltalk/Seaside is a brilliant environment. Being able to debug a web application back end while it's running is really handy. Having said that, this article has a bizarre name. There was nearly no comparison of anything. The guy actua

Yea, because it's only Apple who sues people. It would have been irony if a real patent troll company got sued for patent violations.

So are they suing everyone else too? Sounds like the whole computing world is in violation of their massive 5,000 patent portfolio.

This isn't ironic, it's completely expected. The people most effected can't afford to come out to something like this. Their boss (or bosses for those that work multiple jobs) aren't going to give them any more time off than they must.

Why would this reduce anything? If anything I would expect this sort of customer bullying to get them targeted even more. After all, if customers have their credit card info stolen, get robbed and then can't even sue Sony for incompetence
