Are you sure it’s 10x smaller? I’d be surprised if OpenAI hasn’t been massively distilling their models.

Also, the full consumer (RTX) stack is supported. Lots of people who are gamers, or want a hobbyist rig can go out to the shops and start with a RTX. AMD's ML / ROCm support for their consumer cards is still awful.

That’s alright though. Scaling pains. Glad they finally entered the “4nm race”, and seems like genuine innovations even if not perfected.

The cheapest way to get a 80gig setup is to to only offload some layers to GPU, and use CPU/system RAM for the rest. I run ~120GB models on my PC with a 7950X, 128GB DDR5, and RTX 3090.

Humans are bad at watching out for rare possibilities, particularly when their job is repetitive, even moreso if they’re sleep deprived or simply zoned out for a bit. I bet if you try this, you’d have a >3% chance of succeeding… and prob

It made the news because he got charged with being a stowaway. I’m sure “boarding a wrong international flight to the USA” does happen >5 times a year. I assume most are resolved when there’s a seating conflict.

It depends on how you act. Most crimes require intent. Going straight to border control, saying “I have no recollection of how I got here. I don’t have a passport” probably wouldn’t have gotten you charged.

Federal Arbitration Act severely, and nearly completely, ties courts hands around throwing out binding arbitrations. Of course, if people don’t accept the new terms, they are still bound by the one ones. But if you don’t opt out…

That’s a little unfair. Unreal Engine is very fair for indie devs. So is Epic Games stores. Fighting to challenge the 30% tax is also good for indie devs. Without that, the 15% on first 1mil would’ve never happened.
