I think the ability to setup BIND is easier to acquire than $185,000.

Putting off integration is cheaper when it's not yet clear what you need to integrate with. Or to frame it differently: having requirements of "be everything for everyone" is a surefire way to fail.

I'm pretty sure "subjugation of the population through chattel slavery or Jim Crow" and "net neutrality" are on different coins. That can't be your calculation in deciding whether or not to side with the "

But, why? This transfers power to the less populous states and away from the more populous states. What's the point in doing so? The current system creates incentives for states to split in two. What's the point of that? Why is it

Democracy is rule by the people. That is not the same as majority rule. Consensus-based decision making (including wiser approaches like consensus-minus-1) requires supermajorities to make decisions, but that does not make them undemocratic

365.25 is a ratio- the number of rotations of the earth per revolution. In a real sense, it comes from our solar system. If you shy away from it, any given point in your year's calendar will drift in terms of seasons. You see this in t

I'm not sure it needs to be effective at influencing the decision making in order to be worthwhile. I think people owe it to themselves to evaluate the ethics and morality of their work, and not contribute to things they do not want to

I'm familiar with inetd, but I don't understand your point. Unix is more than a dozen years older than 4.3BSD. Claiming that long lived daemons is somehow anti-Unix is absurd. Just ask init or getty.

Eh, that's the original idea of the Unix shell, sure. But Unix has many ideas. Long running daemons have been a part of Unix systems since the beginning.

I am not arguing that Communism is free of coersion. I don't think free markets exist, I believe they are an idealized model. I think this is especially true for the labor market. Likewise, I don't believe there are coersion-free
