I think that's a side-effect of how code must be written to work with dependency injection, to make the injection actually possible, IMO it's not the DI itself that makes it testable.

I've found DI pretty useful when building frameworks, it gives you a sort of generic plugin system. Plus you can hide it from consumers if that makes sense. If you're just building applications I'm not sure it's worthwhi

I don't have as many complaints about Python's dependency system as most people but that issue is very painful. Calculating dependencies properly is slow and very vulnerable to network failures, causes constant issues inside corpo

They're reasonable points, and I'm not trying to start a war. Specifically for youtube I guess I find it weird because the people I watch on there at least are regular folks, not big faceless marketing machines, I want to support

That's true in the short term, but sponsors don't pay for people to shill their products if nobody's watching.

I explained why I skipped it in some circumstances, I think I probably watch 90% of them. Or does this sponsor block thing let you choose when to skip? It didn't look like it but that would be great if so.

Not trying to make accusations but why would anyone block these segments? Isn't that how the content creator is making a living? I just skip them by hand if they go on and on or I've already seen it or whatever.

It's not as convenient out of the box but I use frp. With the deployment and configuration automated it's pretty good.

Conversely, if you're already familiar with something, it might make sense to you despite being poorly written and unconvincing.

A year or two ago when I was using Ubuntu I liked them for certain things like jetbrainse IDEs. Easy to install, easy to keep updated. I think for desktop apps they weren't bad. I also used LXD, an otherwise very fine system, with snap

I've used it a bit in cases where you need to use object storage on prem, or when you don't have cloud service access during development. But I don't see a use for it myself beyond that.

I tried scalajs for a few tiny personal projects and I really like it. For me it would have to be a very application-y product to use this over typescript but I really liked the experience.
