Feels a bit like 3d movies. The producers can practically taste a fresh new market, just have to get the consumers stampeding. I don't think there's been the Avatar equivalent yet, and though it might take a bit longer, I think th

I think YAML was designed to machine readable. What would you do with it otherwise? Nobody's writing poetry in it (that I know of)

I assume neither of us has experienced these YAML bites that others have :). I don't mind TOML but I don't find it either intuitive or obvious. The syntax for how nested things are flattened I just find really hard to read and wri

Well, I tried extracting fields from some logs I had lying around and I can tell you why I think it's not useful: 1. I select DEBUG and INFO, but it doesn't work out that there are WARNs etc in there and extract those too. 2. Some

Prompt Engineer is such a pompous title. I think AI operator would be more accurate.

If you consider other consequences that result then it can be "weakness" to take an easier path. I won't use ridiculous examples, but many bad things have happened because it was easier.

Lots of people at my work use it, but I don't know if I'd consider it essential. If you can use any editor/IDE very fluently that's good; probably doesn't hurt to learn with vim if you don't already have that.

Maybe if it was more like an interview, but if they don't answer a direct question with a direct answer they get a little stab. ScoMo would have been a pincushion years ago.

Server side includes work nicely for this, I think nginx was what I used (long time ago now). You can even inline them on load but reload htmx-style with minimal effort.

The title seems accurate and appropriate to me. If I were selecting a framework for performance I might chose this framework, which I would use through Python, rather than a Go framework that I would program in Go. It's a framework, yo

Just me of course but I don't think I'd guess that without certain UI cues. With checkboxes for eg I wouldn't even think of shift clicking. Not disagreeing, just thinking aloud :)

I have one of the Ericsson-branded ones of these (MC218), such a great device. It still works too. I had an Ericsson phone (the little flip one) and the little IR modem that plugged into the bottom of the phone. Data was so prohibitively ex

Yeah that's true, it is different. Neat :). With Scala you would put immutable types in your list if you wanted to, but I get what you mean, it's not the same.

Scala has immutable types in the standard library too, but I don't think they make much sense without the language being statically typed. By which I mean adding immutable types to Python or whatever's stdlib would not be that har
