Well I personally am sick of seeing github profiles that are just a bunch of trash commits. List specific projects, what you contributed, and a link to who cares which service on your resume. Way easier to read

Its easier for new team members to understand consistently formatted code. Just one less thing to get in the way. Some people are too stupid to use an autoformatter though :P.

I think it's more a sign that Go will eventually pick up (some of/all of) the features people complain of it missing, in time. Maybe when it's a complete language it will still be simple; maybe trying to keep it artificially

Progress can go backwards too. Part of a file transfer might be determined to be corrupt, or it might refer to my career progress which frequently goes backwards.
