It doesn't export attached files if you have those. Didn't tell me that either (though it was over a year ago now).

I seem to be in the minority but I'm not a fan of jinja2. I like mako better, I guess you have more leeway to do silly things but I never feel like I can't do what I want.

Ha ha ha, even funnier after I read the article. I hate that kind of marketing.

I don't think anything would stop you dual licensing your own software if you needed to.

I had to use windows terminal today and I hated it. It's way better than cmd or whatever the thing before was but it still sucks.

Ditto :). I use --really though.

It would make more sense to 'rent' the office to people who want to come in. People who don't use the office pay less rent. Seems unlikely though :)

You can have fun and socialise at work without devolving it into constant arguing. At my current job everyone's fairly mature and I think that even though there are lots of radical opinions it stays very congenial because people back o

I love Sublime, I've paid for every version and I did the same for my devs for many years (when I had a company cc!). I would just like to say remote editing is the only thing I use vscode for. If ST had remote editing I and probably a

Yeah, experimenting is the worst thing to do until you've mastered a few things like temperature, fats, amount of liquid etc. I made so many horrible experiments.

Scummy contractor, incompetent as well as lying about it

Thank you, that looks really neat

I personally don't use the scripting language at all (except for configuring it or whatever). I just use it as a nicer bash interface.

I'm still holding a faint hope for that

I use that too, works really well. Bit fiddly to set up but it's surprisingly resilient, and at least the WhatsApp app is stuck in it's own VM with nothing else on it.

Haha, that was my favourite part. Wish they'd followed up by asking which fingernail and whose, when they last cut it etc.

That's a bit unfair, they also do super shitty IT support and cloud service type stuff.

I just came here to complain about that! It's the most obnoxious popup, ffs at least show it at the start so I don't waste my time on 1/5 of an article.

Don't joke, we'll probably see web 4.0 distributed on vinyl soon enough. Just gotta get the assets down to less than 100mb.

I assume I'm just being dense, but if you have to boil the potato, surely that takes a bunch of energy? Or do you burn wood to do that in this scenario

by danmur 5y ago
That's super interesting, thank you!

by danmur 5y ago
That's a sweet typo

Yes! What is with that inline code thing? The only time single backticks seem to work is when I don't want them to.

Ahh that's great, thank you. I've been running nixos on my laptop for a year but have never come across that somehow.

I think at some point it's just hard to get used to something new. Linux to me is incredibly polished in terms of both UX and customisability, compared to both Windows and Mac (both of which I've used commercially for 5+ years). B

Meh. Most configuration libraries I've used make all of these issues into non-issues. It's very useful to be able to set configuration with environment variables, even if you're loading from a file.

I'd be happy to pay for a browser with my interests at heart at this point. Maybe this is an improvement but it's a problem that doesn't need to exist.
