There are still pioneering achievements in modern aviation. The 787, for its carbon fiber fuselage and advanced computing system, and the A380, for its sheer size, come to mind. If a measure of the import of new technology in aviation is wh

I think that the real problem is that most people will not pay for 5 different streaming services. Remember, the median family income in the US is only about 50k, which I'm guessing is less than most people here make by themselves.

I hope you don't get too many downvotes for that. You may have been making a joke (and you did give me a good laugh), but for a huge number of students, it's the truth. It's hard for a student to focus on the underlying theor

Sure, downvote the entire comment because I dropped the wrong name in the last sentence ... or is it because I stated that I dislike him, and most of you fall on the other side of that fence? Either way, real cool guys.

I think the biggest problem caused by the change in the cost and the availability of food was actually the cost itself. People can afford to consume more calories without going broke, and so they do - too many calories. I regularly eat fast

I tried going to a similar algorithm of my own invention some years ago, and ran into this exact problem. Mostly sites that don't allow certain characters (which is asinine). Now I have a few different algorithms that I use that are fr

Agreed. However, adding a single CAN bus ADC to the fuse PCB (to sense no voltage on circuits with a blown fuse) would cost almost nothing, and would allow the computer to provide information on the blown fuse and instructions on how to rep

Having a fail-safe functionality (vs ... fail-deadly, I guess, with no fuse) is critically important (far more than just being a good idea), but there's no reason it can't be a circuit breaker with feedback to the computer syste

$35k for bare land? In Detroit, $35k gets you a lot with a newly renovated, 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. Random example at $37k: http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/487-W-Green... Edit: I can just keep going

Many museums in the US (at least in the midwest) have "free days". In my town, for example, the art museum is free on Tuesday and during certain weeks of the year (when we have art festivals, for instance).

In Detroit, the situation is simple and difficult. The city's population used to be much larger. The city made commitments to its then-workers based on the assumption that population and revenue would hold fast. The city's populat

I think an obvious, if not particularly harmful thing for a free proxy to do would be replacement of ads with ones that pay to the proxy owner, and injection of affiliate links whenever possible. I wonder how common that is?

FYI, One of the malls in the linked article was extensively remodeled in 1998. Personally, I dislike the trend toward open-air, outlet style shopping since I live in an area that regularly gets below 15f in the winter.
