When light travels, it spreads out as it goes, making it less powerful for a given area. This is the famous inverse square law. Radar decreases the same way. However, radar is even worse in that it also decreases on the way back to the send

Just an FYI - this story is as much, if not more, an IT story, than it is a political one. HN rightly favors discussing this.

Anyone have a link to the contents of the memo that recommended firing, and contained the reasons for that recommendation?

Pro tip: Symphonies price segment like crazy. Except the cheap seats are pretty good. A couple can usually go to a symphony for about the same cost as movie tickets plus movie theater snacks.

Boring, used cars, picked carefully from Craig's List. On the plus side, they've been super reliable, don't look bad and cost + maintenance works out to a bit less than $1,000 a year.

No, that's not how taxes work in the US. Business taxes are before, and in addition to your income tax. Single member LLCs get special treatment - you only pay personal income taxes and self employment taxes, but not business income ta

The authors built a physical drone that flew 11,000+ random trajectories - mostly crashing into things. They then trained a neural network with the camera images, and got surprisingly decent obstacle avoidance and exploration out of it. Pap
