This is nice work. Summarized: by untying word piece embedding sizes from the hidden layer size + sharing parameters between layers, the number of parameters in the model are drastically reduced. They use this headroom to make the hidden la

I can never understand why AMD has not thrown its weight around to get support added in PyTorch and TensorFlow. Just for completeness: Tensorflow has (upstream) ROCm support. When training some of our transformer models, the performance d

What do you mean by this? There is no default map type. The standard library has types such as BTreeMap and HashMap, that pretty much are what it says on the tin.

yubikeys can store GPG keys and emulate SSH keys via gpg-agent. Indeed. Same for gnuk keys. I currently use a gnuk key (Nitrokey Start) with Ed25519 and have GPG set up as the SSH agent for SSH. Though I hope to switch to a YubiKey soon,

You shouldn't just encrypt the keys. If malicious code is running on a machine, they could as well eavesdrop on keystrokes. This is even made simpler by the fact that a large part of the demography uses X11, which is inherently insecur

For this particular case: if you have GnuPG or SSH private keys, do not store them on-disk. Use a hardware token, such as a gnuk token, or a token with a secure element if you also want resistance against physical key exfiltration. A gnuk-b

I think the reasoning is that you can host projects on GitHub without them being FLOSS, since you can just start a repository and add code without ever adding a license. If you do not add a license, it is just copyrighted code, and cannot b

You are right! So that's a Darwin oddity, still a wide char function is called in that code path, iswspace, which adds the function call overhead in a tight loop.
