This is a great example of why mathematicians have difficulty getting others to use and understand their work. What the OP says is perfectly true, yet completely incomprehensible unless you already know what he's talking about, at which po

And a refurbed iPad 1 is $349 from Apple, $399 new, as long as they last. Presumably, they're still making a profit.

Google is OK with you doing that, they'll eventually throttle down your IMAP connection, but it'll keep going.

Chrome has a background process that does the updating for it, Adobe could in fact use the same code Google does if they wanted (and it'd likely be much higher quality than anything Adobe wrote for themselves!): http://code.google.com/p/o

'Existing code' refers to Google's codebase, not necessarily the rest of the world. Then they can do things like have their version control diff apps like Mondrian/Rietveld have fixed-width UIs that fit on one page, when they know that eve

Their feedback form doesn't work in Safari. The site feels like a Flash site, but doesn't use flash, which is nice! It also works on my iPad. The 360 is a bit slow but it's there.

A pessimistic answer would be that all the people who were working on Mozilla who liked to add bloat like email and IRC and Palm syncing to a web browser jumped over to Firefox. Or that the guys who wrote Firefox 1.0 have moved on. Or tha

Nobody pays the use tax, because nobody's heard of it, and nobody makes you pay it. Also, Texas doesn't have an income tax, only property tax, so Texas wouldn't have a chance of enforcing it short of major invasions of privacy.

At least the iPad is being updated frequently, and nobody's stuck with an old version (except original iPhones...), unlike IE6 was. Sidenote: This blog's highlight color is green on black? Ick.

This seems like 'I want a store like the iTunes Music Store for videos' that doesn't have the movie-company BS that the actual iTunes movie store does. (i.e. DRM free, has absolutely everything, doesn't cost a ridiculous amount for TV shows

I think the 3GS and 4G encrypt in hardware. Also, you can set your phone to drop the key to wipe the phone if someone inputs the wrong PIN/password 10 times in a row. You don't have to worry about someone brute forcing it.
