I suspect JB know most of their revenue comes from corporate licenses (I‘m guessing), so this shouldn‘t cut their bottom line significantly, while simultaneously giving them a foot in the door of potential new customers. Get them hooked for

I had no idea Rider supported C++. My impression was that it is for .NET only. How does it compare to CLion?

Yes, safe Rust is only as safe as the underlying unsafe code is. The power of unsafe is that it‘s opt-in, making the surface area of „dangerous“ code smaller, more visible and easier to reason about. As long as the unsafe parts are safe, yo

They write just like everyone else, there‘s no apparent difference. The parts of their brain responsible for speech works just fine, but it doesn‘t vocalize their thoughts „back to them“.

I guess that‘s more or less the definition. They don‘t hear a voice in their head when they think, but their thinking is completely „normal“ otherwise. I believe in a video, Simon mentions some examples where people with an inner monologue

I hate that every manufacturer under the sun sells products with rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, yet none of them limit the charge to 80% for battery health. I don‘t get it. Do we really love e-waste this much?

Since Chrome has the PCM data it‘s writing to the speaker, it can use that to remove similar sounds from a mic. That‘s my guess. There‘s a similar question on SO: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/21795944/remove

What annoys me is that nobody seems to explain the FFT well. I would love to understand that algorithm, bit so far I haven‘t found resources that made it click for me.

I love how effective the article is at communicating. A digestible idea followed by visual example. Rinse and repeat. I think we could learn something from this for our documentations, or even Jira comments.

I think you‘re digging into a philosophy question with the wrong shovel. You‘re not wrong, but OP is debating something that is fundamentally unmeasurable (as I understand them). Science can only help us understand things within spacetime.
