Sounds interesting. Cool that it's build in HTML/CSS/JS, and apparently 1.0 was just submitted to the App Store today: https://plus.google.com/103835916412808164341/posts/fC3RZ4Lp...

Well-optimized C is likely to always be faster than well-optimized JavaScript. It is also possible that circuitlab is not well-optimized JavaScript. I will say that it also depends on the problem domain. You can make a fast 3D game in JavaS

Everyone's different, but I have a "Kindle with special offers" from last year, and the sleep screen's ads are actually a feature. They're unobtrusive, informative and have actually saved me money. If the Kindle Fire implementation is simil

That's my feeling, too. I really like that in Sublime Text I can hit a shortcut that launches any of the random commands available in the editor. I would probably amend the statement to be "Every app for programmers should have this."

There's a bug in bugzilla for that. Also, I think you'll find that the whole issue of "common phone screen resolutions" is actually painfully complicated. The iPhones, for example, report their resolution as half the actual resolution (in e

I have a good reason for wanting this to land "earlyish" – to encourage the creation of more commands and full command access to the tools. If the command line is there and seeded with a few commands, people will start adding more (both for

In some respects, it goes farther back than that. IIRC, Bespin had a command line in early 2009 when I started working on it.

Actually, I think the effect is better this way: changes are relatively small and incremental (and every release does not have significant user-visible change). This is easier than a huge change all at once (like Firefox 3.6->Firefox 4)

Here's the blog post in which I introduced the feature... http://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2012/03/13/firefox-adds-new-dev... The 3D view is not "every day" useful, but people have found it to be a quick way to spot unexpected nesting issues.

Actually, if Apple had an interest in Square, wouldn't it then be a shrewd move for Starbucks to invest and get on the board? Buying into a company not long before it's acquired can be a great way to make a buck.

The web platform is rapidly improving for games, on all fronts. The HTML5 offline (appcache) spec allows you to have resources available when offline (and you don't need to write your own code to stuff things into localstorage...) Besides,

FWIW Firefox ships with a similar feature in the Aurora channel right now https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/apps/partners/ As others have said, the goal ultimately with this kind of work is (or should be) standardization. Web tech-based apps

I believe it was Firefox 12 or 13 that made add-one compatible by default. Except for add-ons with binary parts, I don't think you should find so many turned off with each update now.
