Not to discredit what you’re saying (because I think it’s valid!) but I’ve dated people that have had difficult relationships with their parents and I think being away from them has overall been a more positive solution for everybody. That

Agreed about the beginning of the article. It started to feel like the author’s value judgements were slipped in there, but later when they acknowledged “some might not see this as all bad” I felt a little better about it.

I’ve pursued some worthwhile wants in the past, and I was surprised about how much they satisfied me. I think deep down it wasn’t the things that I acquired that made me happier, but the effort I took into taking care of myself that made me

A lot of AAA game studios with larger C++ codebases use Incredibuild a lot. I can imagine having something with this level of parallelism would be incredibly useful.

In the games industry, I worked with an older programmer that developed games on the Sega Genesis back in the 90s. He said often changing the background colour[1] was the "simplest" way of debugging state or branches. [1] https:&

Recently at work I was able to use C++ templates to automate a lot of repeated boilerplate code I was responsible for. The reason was to minimize the amount of (error-prone!) rote work that had to be done as the project would continue to sc
