I'm not an economist or a laissez-faire capitalist, but I don't think that's the ordinary mechanism of market pricing. My understanding is that the individual actors on the market independently price their goods in competitio

Not to mention a large amount of the artifacts involved to play those games aren’t necessarily documented or accessible. The Nintendo 64’s CIC chip was only reverse engineered quite recently and required a serious reverse-engineering effort

I would kill for anime studios to reinvent A New Hope. The plot and the characters would translate to anime tropes really well.

Doesn't copyright usually start from date of publication? It changes a bit for unpublished works, but otherwise a long gestation period doesn't eat into the duration of exclusivity. [1] [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/

I'm sadly not particularly knowledgeable on US game development salaries. I can imagine it varies a lot by company and region. I work in Vancouver, Canada, and a large portion of its industry is due to Canadians commanding lower wages.

Game development has a degree of notoriety for its working conditions and I’ve noticed a similar management style to yours appear subtly in certain teams here and there. The turnover is much lower, although the work tends to be less glamori

I didn't crazy care for my time in Las Vegas, but I loved Valley of Fire park. It was incredible seeing the martian landscape and petroglyphs of ancient peoples.

For about six months I lived in Japan in an apartment in the suburbs. I was a homemaker while my partner worked in the city. I would frequently take the train with large bags to Costco and stock up on bulk purchases such as rice, oatmeal, a

This might have changed with more recent updates, but I was under the impression that the Mono garbage collector in Unity was a bit dated and not as up-to-date as a C# one today.

If you find yourself porting to another platform that’s less PC (eg: smartphone, game console) that’ll serve you well. Wren has some really interesting design choices so I feel like it’s a good fit for performant embedding.

I make games as a hobby and I've thought about a "lighweight Wren framework with C++ modules for rendering" has been in my mind for a while. I'm so glad someone's thinking the same!

I write C++ for video games, and garbage collection is often shunned in performance-critical systems since it's often nondeterministic and GC pauses can become too long. I think garbage collection could work in games, but it's com
