I deal with a lot of different people in a given day, academics, trades people, sales people, students, parents, bankers, employees....you name it. I do all of the context switching, or condescending, up or down because I long ago realize

I regularly find myself having two separate conversation threads in a text message exchange with one person. I don't know if that confuses people or not.

If it logs your miles from a text message, that's a bit more complicated than a website. SMS to web gateway, process the data, update the database, connect database to website, make functional website. These are not super complicated on the

Fashion yes, the best industrial designers barely understand fashion. The only thing I can remember where a fashion designer attempted to incorporate tech is those sneakers with the LEDs in the heels... and since they were a fashion, they p

Search has "issues" I wonder if the modern electronic card catalog has a place in the grand scheme of things. I think search has made us lazy, I admit to typing a name into the search bar rather than typing the URL into the location bar eve

Sure, crap only wins in the short term and psychologically speaking the last 10 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things. I have a coat older than Google. I have drill press older than the entire internet. I have books that predate th

Also if you look at Google owning web advertising with a critical eye, one question seems to appear to me. How is it that Google has become essentially the equivalent of a broadcast advertiser in a narrowcast distributed ownership venue lik

Agreed. Be polite, contrite if necessarily, to LEOs to get clear of the situation. Deal with the injustice later, unless you are ready to go all the way and do it the hard way. Schools are bad because school funding is flawed. All the metri

Poor http://www.desktopfactory.com/ killed by a legion of tinkerers. See also http://www.makerbot.com/ if you prefer a more finished product. I'm going to give RP a go at some point but I suffer from project overload right now.
