Is your LG monitor the new 5K display? If so, you'll probably want to read about the shielding problems[0] [0] https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/01/apple-lg-5k-display-...

That's why it's dangerous to assume the opinion of a particular community is the dominant one. See also the Brexit and Trump victories nobody saw coming (except everyone who voted for them).

Considering they’ve both implemented it, I’d guess Apple & Google have either already licensed the tech or decided the patent application has no merit.

Yes, the data retrieval fee for infrequent access is $0.01/GB so a 1TB restore would cost me $10. Thankfully I’ve not had to perform a complete restore, though I do regular test restores of a part of the backup just to make sure it’s a

Seems to be around 6 times more expensive than S3 for my usage (<1TB, EU Standard - Infrequent Access is $0.0125/GB vs $0.08/GB). Of course, you can’t rsync to S3 so I’m handling backups with duplicity and using S3 as the stora

Yeah, still rocking the iPhone 6 here. I'd quite like the 3D touch that's on newer models, but not enough to pay for a new phone. Will likely stay with this until the battery drops off or it otherwise stops working. Previously had

Aside from better battery life (better as in 3+ days of use) I can't think of much I'd want in a phone that isn't already there. Camera, display, speed etc are all fine for my needs.

HTTPS would at least prevent shady WiFi providers from messing with your content before it gets to the user e.g. injecting ads into your content (or even replacing your own ads, if you use them).

I would hate that. How could ever be sure Apple (or anyone else) hasn’t added/modified my code without consent? I wouldn’t ever stake my reputation on signed code which hasn’t been signed by myself!

Traditional butter is made by churning milk, so while a cow is still required, it doesn't need to be slaughtered to make the burger. I wonder if it would be possible to cook it in soy butter?
