I like to think that the light rays from that far away galaxy could just be arriving here any moment, treating all with a good enough telescope to a free showing of Star Wars from a really boring camera angle.

In my opinion, they could have gone into "a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" a bit more...

Yeah, the cylinder design seemed a little bit "what?" at first, but after seeing the airflow demo... it makes a lot more sense.

It would be interesting if Google let us optionally search using the original pure pagerank search from 10 years ago. Would it be like turning off spam filtering on email?

1st thing I would do is take a long hot shower. Also maybe go for a jog.

I was recently astounded by the sheer number of dependencies and attendant files that get downloaded when starting up a new node.js project. The notion of reading all the source is... quaint!

I was recently hired to complete a specific task on a project that sounds similar to this one. On the 2nd day of my involvement and having read through the code a bit, I realized that the task I was hired to complete was the last thing the

You don't have to move anywhere. Just bill at least $625/day (cheap!) and take multiple projects. Working in django, it is fairly easy to deliver sufficient value to two clients per week at this rate. Very often they need the same things

When I am not feeling design intuitively, I approach it as a problem solving exercise as that's what we do as coders... solve problems. Ask yourself, what problem is this design solving? Is the goal of the site to get people to buy things?

It is really well presented here as "Jobs moving in for the kill", but in a way, Apple's terms really didn't seem to be about "killing" but more about taking in the situation and finding a realistic set of numbers that were actually tenable

Here is the trick: All of the technologies that your customers supposedly now use to replace the services you used to offer them, can also be used by YOU... to replace the services you used to offer with better services in much less time. P

Agreed on wave. We wanted to use it for projects but there was always the 10% of the team that didn't have access. That seemed like the perfect way not to introduce a product oriented toward collaboration.

I use a MacBook Air paired with an LTE iPad. The combo gives me great speed and roughly whole workday battery life. If the MacBook dies after 5 or so hours, the iPad will still be at 90% charge and is fine for ssh/vim. This rarely happen

We used to have an area like Akihabara in NYC, from the 1920s until the '60s. It was called "Radio Row". It was displaced by eminent domain to build the World Trade center. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Row

25 is when you can (easily) rent cars (in the US). That's definitely a sweet spot. Of course until 35 you still can't run for US senate or president...
