Replying in the very real case you are vindicated. Sure it IS unsubstantiated. But it is terrifyingly logical from a digital distribution standpoint. Think not what Apple, but companies like Sony would have to gain here.

Dongles are never the best answer. Either bulky and akward, or tiny and lost/broken. It would take a bit less than 3cm to just add the extra chip and jack.

Call me oldschool, but my headphones that work with everything else, should work fine for my phone. I will continue to vote with my dollar and only buy phones with 1. Removable battery 2. Removable storage 3. Headphone plug. Don't thin

I, like many others, live in an area where there is already roughly enough housing. There is little space to build a new 1 family home, not does it make sense to. If I tore down my current house, It would make economic sense to turn it into

This is just a log way of saying we are looking at the wrong metrics. Good on them for publishing a 'negative' finding, and not clawing for some trivial clickbait casualty for attention.

You got downvoted, likely becayse americians all know a pedantic asshole who repeats this ad nasuem. However, it should serve to point out how US centric a lot of our assumptions are conversing on HN.

Did I miss the justification somewhere? Some vauge association thing outweighs free speech? The author has utterly failed to even convey his basic message, which seems to be, and please pardon the overused term 'Virtue Signaling'

Ironic, as toyotas have more made in USA and assembled in USA cars and car parts than ford does, and has for over a decade. Only Honda or Chevy can claim more american than Toyota iirc. https://www.usatoday.com/story/mo

Gone to reddit on mobile lately? Because its terrible. Full screen popovers. At a minimum you have to request a desktop page for anything usable. Its barely better than a paywall.

Interesting that he compares them to firearms, and all that entails. With power levels increasing, we may see a viable laser rifle soon, and with it, a need for a new regulatory structure (or adoption and expansion of an existing one, atf,

I know its a faux pas, but really? Downvoted for saying more hate isnt the answer? Are we anti-MLK jr here? Is police letting in armed masked people buisness as usual? Please gratify me with a response, as it is worring as hell for a commen

All I see is more people spreading hate in response to hate. This is not a rational approach. Do we not remember the most sucessfull man in civil rights and what he taught? Additionally, the article states that the police let in 100 hooded

You used those 2 words with 1000s of people and noticed a trend? Impressive. Words mean things. Just because you, and many others don't always observe the minutae of meaning, does not erase it. There are words you, and 1000 other peers

Bet its even closer than you think. Nobody I know who does BASE is still alive. Some quit, others died. Everyone just kind of expects to die doing it. Blue skies, black death.

I bet it was the Roland setup. I forget the model, but it uses individual pickups for each string and some huge 9 conductor cable to go to a decoding box. I still have one somewhere. The latency was terrible, and more than one note at a tim

Sure, but we need the physical layer. Somewhere between the 5 +1 pin DIN and the logic. We need a standard to replace it becaue music should not nessitate the use of a seprate computer to communicate. Beyond that I could dive in to the MIDI
