Not really a solution, as there’s plenty of countries now (eg Australia, nz) where cash is not useful anymore, because many physical merchants no longer accept it. The number grows every year.

I bought this one for the same reason , two simple knobs , no BS keypads and presets. It was expensive but I love it, more than I expected.

Police aren’t going to help you with bank issues, and the courts don’t care if there’s a local branch or not, as the hypothetical lawsuits are filed against HQ . It’s just not true. It makes people like OP _feel_ better because they have s

There are a particular set of AML/KYC laws for which none of that will ever help. They can’t tell you why, they can’t stop it next time. It sucks but there’s nothing any financial org can do about it.

FYI all those examples are PE, not VC. Fairly different. Not that VC doesn’t have its own problems, but yeah.

Not only is it not a viable solution (we as mankind just ain’t gunna voluntarily degrow ever, sorry), but it’s not even necessary. We have the technology to decarbonize the majority of the economy already. We already put 1% of the worlds gd

yeah this is the actual point - it makes the code/app totally portable & decoupled from config. I find it significantly better than having to have the app code choose different config based on interrogating facts about its runtime

Great explanation, and I agree with one caveat - from my experience if you get to a truly large single RDBMS you have already lost, even if you have a powerful enough machine to run it on. Massive RDBMS instances are awful to manage. Hard t

i think you should look up the phrase, because thats exactly what it refers to. That we need two full time incomes to afford a house is a new thing, and is the "trap" we have built for ourselves.
