Why is the up speed so much slower than the down speed? I thought that fiber was symmetric by design. Is google throttling?

Great insight. It never occurred to me to think fourth dimensionally about software until now. Thank you for saving me countless hours of dealing with support emails I don't understand.

It's really too bad. I really wanted webOS to gain some traction but now that HP has all but killed it, it seems incredibly unlikely that webOS will be anything more than a footnote in history.

It very well could be, but I very much doubt that the keyboard will be replaced in the near future. 10 years? Maybe. But not for the near future. People are too ingrained to let keyboards go any time soon.

I have read some bad advice here before, but this ranks among the worst. I would like nothing more than to spend my days sleeping in and my nights creating the next Angry Birds but I live in the real world. There's 14% unemployment here. I

Well done. I like it. I especially like the interface. I hope this idea catches on. Continued success. :)

I have found firsthand that the lack of a college degree has increasingly become a scarlet letter in our society. It's not quite as bad for coders as it is in the rest of tech(the fact we have open source projects to prove we know what we'r

Good. Overreaching software patents and the patent trolls who file them are a cancer on the software industry.

How exactly does DDG make money? You aren't storing search info so I can't imagine that any ads would be very targeted. Is it a "Scale then revenue" plan?

I cannot understand why California has a water supply issue when they are located right next to the largest body of water on Earth. I think the public is much more accepting of desalinized ocean water than they are of reclaimed municipal wa

Awesome video. Not safe for work, but if you're freelancing, I'd HIGHLY recommend watching it.

"And since we have no intention of selling 37signals or going public" It seems to me to be unfair to create incentives like this without intending on ever paying them out. I'm glad that they are creating this now instead of if and or when t

I find it very odd that Steve would cooperate with a project like this without so much as the right to read it before it's released. Honestly I wonder why Steve would agree to that. Any theories?

I don't understand why anyone would settle for a job where they're considered "low status". Especially in an industry like ours where even fair to decent coders can essentially write their own ticket.

A century ago, we didn't realize that radiation is lethal. They didn't arrest him for making science, they arrested him for having dangerous materials without the proper safety equipment.

This will become a textbook example of how(and how not) to handle disasters in the Web 2.0 world. As an aside, I'm glad AirBnB is finally doing the right thing.

Jailbreakme is an amazingly elegant tool. Although I seriously doubt they will, Apple should definitely hire him. His products show that he understands design as well as anyone on their payroll now. That combined with his obvious coding ski

I am willing to let the optical drive go in my next computer, but what I'm not willing to let go of is the storage capacity. Right now I can buy a laptop with 500GB of storage for less than $2,000. Or I can get a MacBook Air with half that.
