If you don't rescue businesses, you end up needing to rescue a lot more people. You can also give loans (not tax dollars) to rescue business. People require grants.

Average citizens in need should (and are in many places) getting grants instead of loans. If the government lets businesses fail because they won't issue loans, more people lose their jobs and require grants. Much more cost effective t

Government should take a hit, in my opinion. It's inefficient for every individual and entity to prepare themselves against things like this, especially since government action (stay at home orders) is exacerbating it. The business &qu

How exactly is this profiteering? They aren't demanding extra money or marking services up. They're at a high risk of bankruptcy themselves.

I can't agree more about Hasura, I made the jump to GraphQL for my current application and it's been a dream. Their documentation is excellent, helping me get setup with auth0 jwt auth and apollo client despite being new to both.

Maybe I’m unlucky, but even keeping my QC25s in the case when not wearing them, I had two fail due to internal hardware issues just past warranty. Support was a joke. I’d have felt like a fool the next time so I switched to Sony’s line, zer

The cost is a factor, but the 7-10 day delay is far worse for me and it’s ~$10 shipping to get 2-3 day delivery. Also, do we know for sure the Ingram warehouse employees are better treated than Amazon?

Cool concept, but the books I compared were 20-50% higher than Amazon, and they charge another $3.50 to ship in 7-10 days.

The first book is more character driven and the plot moves slowly, glacially compared to the next two. I don’t want to ruin the plot, but I‘d say they exceed Dune’s vastness without the long grinds. The author described how he approached th

Dune was my favorite series until TBP. Dune degrades quickly after the first book while I thought each TBP was better than the last.

I’m always shocked at how many people will argue that torture is always ineffective. I’m 100% sure I’d cave under torture, providing a mix of everything I know and what I think they want to hear. They just need to look for falsifiable state

I question the placement of Whole Foods as more ethical. I don’t see shelves of high priced homeopathic “cures” and pseudoscience literature at Costco. Whole Foods is all too eager to prey on ignorance and fear.

You’re right, when I need it fitted nicely I will wear Speedos under the board shorts for that. 90% of the time I’m scuba diving and have tech shorts that go over the wetsuit, so bunching around the legs doesn’t matter much.

I don’t think of board shorts as surf clothes, they are fast drying swim trunks you can wear around town. Great for all water sports, I usually wear mine under my wetsuit. Billabong also makes a line of khaki shorts (walk shorts I think the

I think you’re missing the source of the anger, it’s not the price, it’s the value. Nothing about it is exemplary except the styling, which Apple uses to justify such a high markup. So many here hate it because it’s form over function.
