It’s definitely a hard thing. Gio is still actively developed and it can already do useful things. On the not 100% native side there’s Fyne which seems to only depend on xorg development headers. It can do a lot.

GDPR, or CCPA, isn't all that costly as long as you stop thinking of user data as something for you to harvest, mine, resell and profit from. If you instead treat user data like a security liability, system designs and trade-offs will

The article focussed on how /etc/resolv.conf is being managed and populated. That’s not affected by nsswitch. I only addressed why nsswitch was likely not mentioned, not that it doesn’t serve a purpose.

A lot of this seems to focus on certification of the cloud things that you have to use with most IoT devices. Since HomeKit operates locally, with the exception of remote access to your home through a HomePod/Apple TV/iPad hub, co

It’s probably omitted as nsswitch doesn’t affect DNS client configuration. It affects which sources are consulted to lookup a name (including maybe asking DNS), but it doesn’t configure things like which DNS servers to ask or what options t

In about 90% of companies I’ve seen they expect you to do all the manager things and be an engineer too. It’s not so much a mistake individuals make as that it’s an explicit expectation that you’ll be wearing multiple hats. Folks generally
