Have you thought about an at-home sleep study? My wife and I both did that to get our CPAPs prescribed. Just had to wear a band around the chest (with a little unit that read the force of expansion, I presume), a pulse-ox sensor (IIRC), a

I'm genuinely astonished by how bad the entire introduction/tutorial to RDR2 is. It's several hours long, completely uninteresting, bogs you down in every control and feature that the game has to offer, and is so ungodly sl

This is basically where they're headed. .NET Core can now be used for UWP stuff, for instance. It seems to me that they're trying to prevent a situation where people write a bunch of Windows-specific Core code though.

I think that the properties of antimatter are pretty well established to be identical to that of matter. For instance, the light spectrum of antihydrogen is known to be exactly the same as ordinary hydrogen. I don't think many (any?) r

Renraku was very heavily inspired by Singularity. They went with more of the formal verification approach, which I thought was unnecessary for a desktop OS (which is what I was building). Also, I went 100% pure-managed, where Singularity ha

Didn't expect to see RenrakuOS mentioned in this thread -- hey man! I actually started playing around with some ideas for a modern follow-up recently, stealing a lot of concepts from Redox. Maybe once it gets off the ground, I can ro

I'm curious if the stats for accidents while Autopilot is engaged includes those that occur when it disengaged within, say, 15s of the accident occurring. Excluding that might have a big impact on the numbers. (Big Tesla fan, just wond

The moment I saw this pop up on my screen, all I could think of was the destruction one could cause via fake alerts. For instance, a warning of incoming nuclear warheads like what happened in Hawaii a few months ago. Sure, news stations mig

I think the issue is really just one of scale. If you ship 400M drives a year (as the global hard drive industry did last year), a cost savings of $1 is a lot of money that goes into your pocket/R&D. If you're making 10000

Yeah, I agree. My issue was mostly just with the site being intentionally vague and only talking about what their goal is, rather than summarizing what the prop ... is. That just struck me as exceptionally deceptive.

This is the worst description possible. Increasing taxes doesn't address homelessness -- doing something with that tax revenue does. I just read over Prop C and while it's not the most clear proposal, it doesn't seem unreas

There are four ways I considered for implementing this: write an LLVM backend that spits out .NET binaries; write an LLVM backend that spits out C# or CIL assembly; read the LLVM bytecode from .NET and then generate code from there; use the

I have a piece of code in C++ that uses the LLVM API to walk over a bytecode file generated by clang, which generates my own more easily parsed format. Then my C# takes over from there. So it has quite a lot of LLVM code, but it technically

Frankly, the only reason this doesn't happen more often is that it's hard. Unless you know the right people, finding a buyer for a bug like this is nearly impossible these days. The more legitimate routes are easier, faster, and r
