What a load of nonsense. Somehow in a 4 minute read the author (Social_Justice_Tech)has managed to fit in every form of information bias known alongside unattributed graphs and a picture of THAT guy from Google.

it's a good first choice; it introduces you to common concepts easily, it has a nice clear syntax and can be used in a range of paradigms (OO, FP, shell scripting).

it does sound like they're insecure and are trying to 'show you your place'. I've been in a very similar situation, with an immediate manager not being from a tech background and received pretty much the same comments.
