I don't know what anyone should do about this information. Should they have known that? From my uninformed perspective, I would not expect anyone to know what's under their building. And if I was Hamas, I would probably dig a tunn

In D you have 2 options to deal with that: - As you described, you can disable the GC to do your thing. That's not the solution I would recommend, but if you call GC.disable then the GC won't collect anything until you enable it b

If you can avoid allocations where speed matters, then the GC won't slow you down either, as (at least in D) it cannot be triggered if you don't allocate.

It isn’t proxying afaik, it is calling the Apple servers directly. The only thing getting to Beeper servers (and that can be disabled) is an IDS key without its matching decryption key, for Beeper to be able to see if messages are coming to

If you’re referring to the history, then it cannot talk to the iCloud keychain, and even if it could, it would require your credentials. Same thing if you are just talking about incoming messages, they need your credentials. If they have th

I didn't implement all the IDS stuff, but I am pretty sure the certificate is not used at all to derive keys for anything related to iMessage. I think it is used to attest that the device running it is running Apple software, and it ma

The app is not redistributing it, it just requests a server to get validation data (since anyway the actual library loading involves patching every system function, making the function independent from the host device, see [0] if you want t

I am not the developer but I also looked at that binary to help the project at some point. It's taken straight from OS X 10.8 (more precisely from an Update Combo on their download portal). It's calling NACInit, NACKeyEstablishmen

Could it technically work without BPN by fetching messages from iCloud? I know that's a whole another story (another tricky protocol to reverse) but it will make it one step closer to perfection imo.

It has one clever design choice that nobody followed though: the fact that numbers are not wasting a full row of your keyboard without modifiers. Like, if I want to type a number I can start by pressing shift then typing the number, while a

I still don’t like when number keys are taking ten keys on the unmodified keyboard. In AZERTY you would need shift to enter them, and that’s fine because anyway numbers are usually by group. While a lot of keys requiring caps are braces tha

Dvorak is also based on English spelling, and thus its benefits vanish almost everywhere in the world. There are other alternative layouts, having the same kind of marginal gain over the standard, but then it's not available everywhere

Note: this page seems to have big localization issues, as the French version actually has few parts in English because they amended it at the beginning and at the end, and that makes this article feel quite messy.

There is this app [1] which works well but is English-only unfortunately. Still looks cool though. [1] https://github.com/abb128/LiveCaptions

You can implement the frontend separately for each platform, which is used by example by usbimager, Transmission or SciTE. This is very hard to do in practice for any big enough software, but then using Qt, Java or C# frameworks is probabl

Actually, GTK 4 is already a mess on X11, try to move/resize the window to see the window tear, flicker and misrender.
