This feels like it’s a ChatGPT synthesis of a better article. Samsung’s proposed headset is NOT called the Vision Pro, nor is it really inspiring a reboot (perhaps the AI missed that Apple’s inspired a Samsung reboot?). Submitter has also o

Or an alternative framing: using data can help to remove human biases and increase overall lifespans (which the studies have shown). How is it sociopathic to work on software that demonstrably saves lives?

Alternative reading: company determines that paid contractor is producing content that they can’t distinguish from a borderline free LLM, and decides to use it instead. Isn’t it likely that AI (not the detector) is the real threat to freela

But then you have to link everything. Also, not all retractions will invalidate dependencies, so each cascading dependency (that will greatly increase in number) will need to check if the retraction affects their claim. Maybe they modify it

This is kind of an open problem, especially in the Internet age. Any retraction that’s published will have far less reach than the original incendiary claim. And it’s simply not viable to follow that hundred-chain length sourcing tree for e

Is this really the line we want to draw in the sand? It’s not open source because it can’t be trivially used by AWS and Google? It feels like the popularism is the point, not the complete lack of restrictions.

This reminds me of one of my internet white whales. It's very similar to this, but it goes through a ton of different ways that one `import malevolent` or something alone those lines and completely change how normal Python works. Menti

I think this is referencing this article [1]. It actually precedes the recent one, but wasn't in English. You can see the translation here [2]. The timeline is a little weird, this is a comment I've seen talking about it, though I

So you have to go get out your phone to scan it, at which point, "Hey, I already have my phone out, might as well download the app!". On a mobile browser it just has a "Get the app" button.

For the record, I think this is primarily targeting scope 3, at least based on their most recent Sustainability Report. But I agree that focus on driving 1 and 2 to 0 and shrink 3 as much as possible is the best approach.

There's a lot of well known issues with carbon credits (many are not actually additional, there's double counting, accountability issues, etc). But is there an alternative solution for companies to do? Let's say Meta builds a
