As icebraining says, there is no reason for the 2 to be mutually exclusive.

I would mind less if there was more universal consistency, for example in France you have lemonde.fr, in Germany you have spiegel.de, in the UK you have independent.co.uk, Japan is japantimes.co.jp.

.us is great, I too am surprised at how little I see it in use. Aside form the more restrictive application process, I think it partly stems from the fact .us came after .com and also initially a lot of users had confusion about TLDs (the t

As an aside, I find it very interesting that the BBC website is so selective about which articles they allow (moderated) comments on, for example here is an article with a comment form http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-eu

Thanks for responding, it is good to hear you recognised there were some mistakes and it has changed how you will do things going forward. I appreciate that you needed to explore revenue models and believe you when you say no malice was int

Digital Ocean, Fastmail, Feedbin, Lastpass, Pinboard, Pushover. Those last 2 were one-off payments. I also subscribe to Netflix and Audible, not sure they count as SaaS.

VPNs aren't just used for anonymizing, connecting to public/untrusted WiFi for example.

This is highly opinionated and somewhat condescending, not everyone who doesn't want to join Europe is some right-wing, Daily Mail reader type.

I signed up for Fastmail enhanced, really like it so far, only things I don't like are the read only LDAP contacts and the security settings. Specifically on the security settings, I want to see support for a limited alternative lo

I have never really liked the Firefox logo much. I guess this is a decent compromise given what they've got, and looking at an example of what a completely flat Firefox logo would look like it just doesn't quite work, think this i

I always feel like browser inconsistencies are a bit like print, every print shop seems to have different requirements about colours, gutter, trim, quiet areas etc so even in the real world consistency is not guaranteed. I find if you use s

I signed-up to feedbin last week and I like a lot so far, same focus on simplicity (basically it is Twitter bootstrap UI and a few important settings/options). Digg Reader is one of the few others I have considered, look forward to see

You obviously have not used modern Android, or are ignorant of Android's own innovations and design language. See here where iOS7 "borrows" a lot of stock Android features and design language. https://securecdn.dis

I have a lot of respect for Steve Gibson but I wouldn't take this as anything but his opinion. All he is doing essentially is re-iterating what LastPass themselves claim about their security, so you can only trust this as much as LastP

You had 6 months and you didn't back-up your stuff? Why do you feel there is any blame to be laid at Lacie for this except for the mechanical failure which should have been under warranty? £300 is pretty reasonable for data recovery, i

I'm a huge fan of Zurb and their work on Foundation, this looks like a good stopgap implementation. I just hope it isn't long until there is a standard implementation everyone can settle on, we don't want to end-up with http://xkcd.com/927
