I was thinking about this amazing lecture series which I watched several years ago, and I figured that quite a few people here would find it interesting. It is about getting information on the solutions of hard differential equations, using

I fully agree about the problems and limitations with plain text and the lack of structure and types. It was the composability aspect of the philosophy I had in mind.

The philosophy itself is solid. The implementation is another matter. The only reason to go monolithic is because of technical limitations or commercial and financial considerations IMO.

Do you want to be a "kid prodigy" or do you want to learn and build cool things? If you want to become better at math, read math. If you want to become a better programmer, study concepts and write code. No one can tell you how fa

Living healthily is very important, but unfortunately can only help to a certain extent. Humans just get cancer. Screw this disease and screw nature; the misery it causes is just too much. There is a way to get rid of cancer, and the so

I think it is mostly about motivation. Intuition will come with practice and will remain even if you forget some details. Why limit yourself just to models that map well to everyday life? Everyday life sucks in a lot of ways after all, and

In your previous comment you seemed to suggest that we should not be very far. Maybe I misinterpreted you. I do believe that AGI is possible and that it does not have to resemble a biological brain though.

This is very impressive, but since a biological brain is so much more complicated, who could really make a solid guess? Probably no one right now. PaLM is not an attempt at AGI, a parameter is not equivalent to a neural connection, an activ

Maybe you could compute the spectrum or some other characteristic of the noise and compare it to the type of noise you would expect from a camera. I guess you can always mimic these things to some degree if you are determined enough though.

What Koshkin says is correct and has already been proven by others. You want to get a book that covers sets, maps and cardinal numbers, and read it carefully if you are interested in this sort of stuff.

It is a superset of (0,1), which is uncountable because it is an open interval. All open intervals except the empty one are uncountable. What kind of proof would you like? There is also no such thing as an uncountable list. Lists can be ind

Not the parent, but I 'd say this amounts to how you define a "universe". There is a single wavefunction which says that one "copy" of you observes result A and another "copy" observes result B. Using the

It is the other way around. The "universes" are there when you solve the equations, and you can either let them be or keep only one by invoking the collapse. The collapse amounts to just setting some terms to zero.

In this case you are basically just changing the path of the light already hitting the planet. It will eventually become photons again and can leave back towards space, plus there is no release of greenhouse gases. I guess it would still do

Invent something better if you know how. For many people chemo is their hope and in many cases does wonders by itself or in combination with other methods, either in parallel or in succession.

The really sad story is the unjustified amount of shit C++ gets given its history and design goals. C++ provides features to write much safer and nicer code than with C, for the same effort, with minimal overhead. You have proper constructo
