Is this the typical case of correlation vs causation? From personal experience, using cannabis when you’re not anxious is a pretty un pleasant experience. It causes a slight euphoria followed by severe tiredness, and nausea. Everyone I know

For a year or two, I woke up one hour earlier and did one thing for one hour. I sort of set myself an objective like “in this hour I’ll try and do xxx”. The evening is hard.

You're young, which also means that you're cheap. Your cheapness means that you're more employable than someone with 10y+ experience who'll expect 150k+ salaries. So your chances to be let go are low because you're

Faber and Mazlish’s books are the ones that helped us most. Small children are highly counter intuitive, and the “usual” way of dealing with them is not very good (what you see in movies, what people tell you to do, what you feel society co

I’ve thought origami was the way to prove p!=np for a while. Just waited for Erik Demaine to prove it though cause he’s like a billion times smarter than I am.

Yeah, most surprising is that as an investor, you pay Buffett some percent (I don’t know how much exactly, 2%?) for putting 50% of it on Apple. It’s crazy.

A friend who works in a bank had the opportunity to borrow cash from his bank at the rate of 0.9% for 20 years during QE. He borrowed $1m that he now happily invests in 5% yielding bonds. Not sure this qualifies as Cantillon effect, but it&

Talk to your manager: "find me a way not to be interrupted all the time, or multiply my delivery time by 2, as you wish". Turning slack off is totally an option.

The main issue is that it’s actually fairly difficult to brew a good coffee with a Moka machine. If the stove is too hot, all the water will go through the coffee and then the whole thing will boil and spurt, and the coffee will be terrible

Personally I was thinking about mass surveillance. It skips the need for actual people to listen and flag bad content, so allows the military to do it on a much grander scale. I am pretty sure the military already has killbots…

OpenAi employees are very employable. Several of them were probably lured by Altman’s want-to-better-humanity stance. Only to find out now that the man is deluding himself and betraying everything OpenAi said it wouldn’t do.
