Likewise. I'm looking forward to when DVD/BD drives on laptops are replaced with additional batteries.

IIRC, the jailbreakme.com exploit relied on a flaw in libtiff.

"And the big question is will the iOS devices have monitor outs?" They've already had 30-pin to VGA output for quite a while now, and now HDMI out with the latest dongle accessory.

I enjoy reading the occasional iOS/Android thread on HN - it's perversely interesting to watch otherwise intelligent people engage in name calling, personal attacks, and the sort of fanboy-type behavior you'd normally see on Engadget or Giz

Happened to stumble on Engadget's review of the U36Jc: http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/03/asus-u36jc-review/ "The company has an extremely great handle on what components are needed to make a really awesome thin and light machine – standa

"Yes, we can all agree that the displays are seriously cruddy and the overall build quality and design, for lack of a better work, suck, but at this point we've just come to expect that for a tablet under $300."

Like the disabling the transparent menubar and 3D dock, enabling the Dock indicator will be one of the first things I do on reinstalls.

The complaint is that Apple's lack of TRIM support impacts performance on their SSDs; the Anandtech article says that this isn't the case. The fact that their SSDs are slower than the competition is a separate argument.

If they had waited for an optimized Flash implementation and spent more time fixing the OS bugs, they would have been beaten to market by the iPad 2 by a couple of months - most likely a death sentence at that point. Rushing it out is the s

I would say no, but never underestimate the extent of human stupidity. All those bizarre Farmville-branded snacks and drinks at 7-11? Somebody's buying that crap.

If I remember correctly, Amazon's planned Android app store caused a giant ruckus a few weeks back because of the ridiculous pricing policies.

I'm not sure how small they can make the Kinect hardware - I doubt Steve would approve of an add-on more than 6 times the size of the Apple TV.

What device(s) would Apple even stick the PrimeSense technology in? The 12 watts [1] needed to drive the thing only really makes sense on desktops, and for what - a weird experimental Minority Report style 3D interface? [1] http://www.joy

I imagine this is happening: 1) New iPhone 4 owner downloads a free flashlight app. Plays around with the one-button interface, gets bored. 2) Notices iAd, clicks on it. 3) Navigates around the ad more than he/she does the app. I don't see
