Hard to believe that no one has programmed this. Evolution is insane.

AWS and Google are companies. It's not their job to push for societal changes really. In fact, I hope they don't push for those. I'd prefer them to steer clear of pushing for any higher objectives, that's best left to go

Actually, Python is a strongly typed language. What you mean in your comment is a statically typed language, which it's not.

It's not an issue if you care enough to read the description. This is not some underhanded sneaky thing that Facebook's trying to hide. Users can choose not to install the app.

From attackers maybe? Protection in no way implies privacy.

The app description does not even mention privacy.

Well the app description explicitly says that it collects traffic.

It's an _introductory_ course for a reason. Not all of these students are going to be developers. Those that do, will take advanced classes, rather than trying to interview on the basis of an introductory course.

Kinda off topic, but isn't it a better practice to not hire for specific technologies, but go for good fundamentals?

That doesn't mean they should not write tests for the cases they _can_ think about. It's better to have some test cases, rather than no test cases. Even if only the golden path is tested, that's still better than nothing.

Well, wouldn't it break in one more way if you don't have a test for it?

You're absolutely right. The problem with these kinds of courses is that you will now be competing with people who have been specifically taught how to prepare for and crack technical interviews. I am pretty sure that they will perform

This is what I was afraid of. I always thought interviews were something where you present your abilities, experience and knowledge. It should not be something you "prepare" for because then you're not showing off your skills

Personally, I really hope Uber does well. The leadership is new, they have more capital, and can do really well if they execute properly. No other company has that sort of a global reach in the on demand transport business right now. It

I agree. To me, this is indicative of a deeper cultural problem. It sometimes happens if engineers don't speak up and get involved with the product. This causes a culture of engineers turning into executers, where they just execute the

Does anyone have "aha" moments to share about working in a single repository? Stuff that just made you say, "Great, I wouldn't have been able to do that if it was in separate repositories!".
