I'm absolutely saddened by this news. I'm not good at chess, if anything I'm pretty horrible at it, but I love reading and watching videos about it. Danya's videos were amazing, and provided so much insight into this tho

If you don't mind me asking, why do you prefer this set up over just using brew? I've poked around articles and other posts about this, but I'm not sure I quite get it. If I just need to install packages, would brew just work

Yes, a bit like that! I really wish I remembered the name of it. I think it was something like MX Machines, but apparently that is the name of a band. It was such a niche, fun community of people playing a prank on everyone. I might reach o

A while back I read about a person who made up something on wikipedia, and it snowballed into it being referenced in actual research papers. Granted, it was a super niche topic that only a few experts know about. It was one day taken down b

I've also just been using reddit for far too long. It's gotten to the point where I sometimes feel like I've seen all of the internet, because I recognize way too many videos/posts/stories/cool facts/etc a

I've been getting into baseball and what I love about it is the rising tension. Like how people take turns playing offense and defense and how you can only get runs by touching home plate - and if the inning is over, you just lose all

I'm fairly certain there is a scene in Minority Report just like this! Or at least, the advertisement says Tom Cruise's character's name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minority_Report_(film)

When I used to run super smash brothers melee tournaments in my old apartment basement I had 4 CRTs. I still have one tiny CRT, the size of the screen is very small - roughly a banana from corner to corner. CRTs are absolutely required for

I'm partial to super smash brothers melee. I feel like no other game has come close in making me feel so in control of my character. That being said, it is kind of difficult to get into. Finding a good GC controller can be hard, and pl

Silksong became a lot better for me once I gained the power up that allowed me to dash, sprint, and jump. I definitely have issues with the in-game economy, so to just not worry about it, I've been farming enemies to build up a stock p

I do this with music. I like to pick a genre I haven't gotten into, find an essentials chart for it, and then listen to an album. This is how I fell in love with alternative country, power pop, r&B, drum & bass, and so on.

I'm a huge fan of RubyMine (and all of JetBrains tooling). I've always found their find by reference and jump to definition better than using a language server.

There's a very fun video about accounting by Dan Toomey [0] that I think really drives home the point that accounting is: 1) Extremely important 2) Not that glamorous I always think of accountants as the "nerds" of the financ

I'm a fan of Org Mode with Emacs [0] and using the app BeOrg [1] on my iPhone. I have 3 main task files: - todo.org for things I need to do - backlog.org for things that I don't have to do now but should do in the future - inbox.o

For anyone that used rye, it's worth noting that the creator of rye recommends using uv. Also, rye is going to be continually updated to just interface with uv until rye can be entirely replaced by uv.
