Without max-width the content will stretch across your entire screen, which isn’t great for readability. It’s faster to read when you don’t have to look across your entire monitor and move your neck/head.

I really miss the haptic touch features. The flashlight one was particularly cool because you could instantly enable it by just clicking it like you'd click on an actual flashlight (usually the on button requires some pressure). Now it

You are right that they can close them down whenever they want but 1000 users isn't even a drop in the bucket for their infrastructure. There's tons of discords with 100k+ members. I have one with 15k members and it's conside

Nice blog post, the part about jQuery UI is spot on. There is lots of talk here about how a bit of jQuery is all sites need, but it always turns into a giant pile of complexity when writing all of the transitions rather than just the state

Do you really know for sure though? That is what keeps me up at night. The irony is that one of the leaked screenshots is of an internal security auditing/monitoring tool.

I see, if all that is server side then it makes a lot more sense as I assume backend libraries will get created to handle this for various languages. Bookmarking it to check it out later when I have time to read it all, hopefully it isn

A SPA is calling a backend as well... and the backend (SPA or not) still needs to handle the number locale (comma versus decimals), unexpected 'e', etc. Not sure what about this is a JS problem.

This seems no different than the controversy over GPL code being used to train Github Copilot. Just because it's publicly available and allows indexing doesn't say anything about the license it's released under.
