In the case of Slackware, I'm going to guess that it's more to do with Patrick's idea of "if it ain't broke, don't replace it". This is why Slackware still comes with Lilo by default: it works, so they nev

Word 97, I remember! :) Excel 97 had a similar thing where you'd fly around in 3d, over generated terrain. I think the pinball game included in Word was extremely basic but it was nice to see the developers got to include them.

It's a clear sign the UX of Windows 8 is _different_ from Windows 7, but whether that's bad or not would have to depend on what your expectations are. If you want things to remain the same between Windows 7 and Windows 8, you'

I hope everybody who thinks it's a good idea to "forbid" pasting in password fields at least uses the same trick (onpaste="return false" or something similar) so that I can remove that attribute from the HTML before

I use f-droid as well but I also have Aptoide installed which has a huge offer of apps as well. I still don't have or care for Google's apps on my phone (it runs on CyanogenMod as well) so it's quite doable as far as I'm

I was looking for a replacement for Slashdot, which became more childish by the day it seemed, and someone suggested HN. I haven't seen much of Slashdot since. :)

Wouldn't that more or less be the Immediate Window that Visual Studio already has? Other than the multiple lines you mention. :) I took a look at this to see if it can replace LinqPad, which is similar. LinqPad allows for more than C#
