Riding a trend is definitely a sensible thing to do, it reminds me of a lesson that's quite common in fighting sports is to use an opponents momentum to your own advantage. That said, you can get lucky and happen to work on one of the

Use reverse vesting and don't put provisions in that cofounders can't fire each other. This will twist the incentives to align everybody. 1. if you do 80% of the work and he does 20%, you can fire him and reap 100% of the rewa

This is great, it's just a fact that ssl will not have major adoption unless there's a clear UI or business reason for it. I hope google takes it one step further and updates chrome to show an insecure warning when it detects a pa

it's funny you mention because I believe I have cracked the problem of pinning an altcoin to the usd but I fail to see how it would get adoption in the first place. There is no deflationary or early-adopter reward in it, the only value

I wonder if ordinary people would even consider holding any digital currency even if the value of it is superstable. Even if there would be an altcoin that achieves stability there would be huge adoption hurdles.

It requires a lot more infrastructure work to have this type architecture. In addition you move a lot of the complexity of your application to the interface level between the microservices. I think it has a good use-case if you have one res

Procurement process design is not only a problem in public bodies, there is a lot of corruption in private companies as well where a procurement person would strike a deal with a sales person. This deal can range from "a nice watch&quo

I am interested. Do you guys cover european banks? FYI, your signup for a private beta makes it very hard to click send. there is like 1 pixel on the send-button that actually triggers the action.

Your experience resonates with me and I hadn't seen it into words until now. It's a fate that still drives me to work harder so my future kids wouldn't ever go through it. I read that some investors have a word for it "P

yea, good point about Mechanical turk. Moderators would get expensive quite quickly but if it is such a royal pain I suppose it can be a paid-for feature which is sustainable.

sounds like a good opportunity for dating sites to do pre-moderation of inbound messages. I am sure some of it can be caught with a relatively simple classifier (machine learning) and the rest can be handled with mechanical turk. Another ap

Seems to me that you're complaining about nicely visual laid out websites with poor usability. I am not so sure that Fried is complaining about this. To me it seemed more that in a world full of sleek sites he prefers fake amateurism..
