I never actually stopped to consider why they chose to sell of the TLD. I thought this was just a terrible organizational decision. Call me naive, but it didn't occur to me that it was about the cash infusion. I can't believe they

I hope I'll get my real name when this happens. The account that has it now hasn't tweeted in 7 years. They also appear to have been a fake female profile. I don't even get why. My name is pretty clearly male.

The evidence suggests that the suspect committed the crime. Oh nevermind, the suspect explicitly stated he did not commit the crime. I don't even think freeing up usernames is necessarily a bad thing, but trusting the stated motivation

This is hyperindividulaism driven to an absurd degree. Activism is a good thing. We shouldn't all be limited to apolitically spout facts at eachother, hoping enough people will independently come to the right conclusion and spontanousl

I sadly have no solution to offer. I'm not even saying the people making these comments should all solve the problem or immediately quit their jobs. But at least acknowledging the problem would be a start.

This comment section is full of people criticising the tone, the writing style and the "injection of personal politics" to avoid facing their compliciteness in fundamentally unethical businesses.

I don't think this is being built to follow along a game in progress (though that would be an interesting application) but rather capture a current position and transfer it to a digital representation, for example for computer analysis

I think websites experimenting with different ways to style themselves is actually very good. The onus should be on the browser to provide you with tools to override those settings for your preference.

>that for the sake of shortness This is the part that makes it a sham. You call it that to give it a legitimacy it doesn't have. The entire thing is a project in giving economics as a field a legitimacy it doesn't have.

I wonder if management just can't tell what is and isn't important, so they err on spending nothing until it blows up. Then they now this is something they might need to spend money on.

A lot of people complaining that this wouldn't be able to hold the load of the original thing like that. I'd argue that all platforms attempting to be all-encompassing is a big problem right now. Maybe a single instance of a platf

I know you are just responding to the argument made by the comment you are responding to. But I would argue that at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how the Nobel family feels about the Prize. The Ecenomics Prize is sham regardles

I don't know. "If our discipline had a Nobel Prize, people would consider it most legitimate" isn't really a genius level plan.

Note: This article lazily does not make the distinction, but the "economics nobel prize" is not a real Nobel prize. It was added years later, sponsored by a bank, and is officially called "The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Econo
