GitHub does seem to be having issues with downtime a lot. Security incidents in GitHub jumped from 69 cases in the first half of 2024 to 109 in the first half of 2025 (58% rise!!!). I suggest this report for more info on this topic: https:

Github and GitLab cannot be used as backup as an outage can occur on both platforms leaving you with no access to your data/backup. Its a collaboration platform. Both GitHub and GitLab experienced many outages in 2024 and its best to u
