Yes. Companies that are not able to produce as much value per engineer will likely be driven out of business. This will not happen overnight, as there are likely more in-experienced engineers available (at least for a short amount of time).

#1 Requires some knowledge to do, which can be hard. I do agree that #2 is very true and indeed what I mean by bein stupid is ”exposing your own stupidity/lack of knowledge” rather than playing stupid.
