People need to learn how to get to the point, I swear. > So, what does Colony do? > Colony is a platform for community collaboration. It lets teams, projects, and communities do work, make decisions, and manage money, together. I read

Yeah, the thing is, you can't do this in a file-format-agnostic way (you need to know what a Word doc or an Excel sheet is), which makes the file system layer the wrong level of abstraction to consider.

It is interesting to me how this talks about "computational notebooks" but it seems to be about Jupyter and derivatives thereof -- RMarkdown notebooks run inside of the RStudio IDE, and they don't use the term 'kernels&#

It's a chicken and an egg problem. Developers won't come until you have marketshare, and users won't come until you have games. Paying for exclusives is a way to bootstrap a chicken without an egg.

A fractured landscape is a competitive one. Valve had several years of high margins (meaning more money to them, less to the people that made games) and stagnation of the Steam platform. I prefer this fracturing to the monoculture.

For anyone without the wherewithal to deploy their own Matrix server and without a friend who has one, it looks like there's nothing like the (generous) Discord free tier. Looking at the recommended hosting provider on Riot.im's w

Parent's point, I think, is that technically .NET isn't running on DOS, just C# AOT compiled. In other words, the standard library isn't being used.

Sometimes when reloading doesn't work, I select the URL in the bar and hit enter, which does a... hard reload, I guess? And that works. At any rate, yeah, it's so broken.

I have had that happening to me recently as well. The link that's supposed to expand the thread doesn't work for me either. But weirdly, reloading the page did.

Digital and analog movies fail in different ways, but when a movie exhibited on film fails, normally there's not much the theater staff can do about it in time to keep on schedule anyway. I really don't see what most of this story

The question isn't, is porting Py2 to Py3 easier than porting Py2 to Go. The question is, if you spend the same effort on porting Py2 to Go that you would have spent porting to Py3, and that only gets you 60% of the way there, but the
