A required “more secure” method is less secure if it means you can be locked out by not-exactly-uncommon real-life situations. Denial of service is a security issue.

IIRC, it's supposed to filter out disturbing or offensive content; any time you report a comment or a video, it suggests enabling it to prevent seeing that sort of thing in the future.

Google itself serves similar ads for its own services in all its properties. I've been “critically low” on google storage space for several years now, and every google app prompts and notifies and nags about it on every launch.
