Section 230 needs to be amended to, at minimum, forbid editorializing. Mailchimp should not be allowed to forbid content they don’t like. As soon as you editorialize you become a publisher. You’re now liable for what you’ve published. If yo

I'm sure. I just think the blanket statement is obviously not true. There was a linked study or article, but because the article is so old, the link is dead.

Indeed. My family pays $15 for Music and $10 for 2TB iCloud. For $5 more we will get Fitness, Arcade, News+, and TV+. I bet their service revenue will see quite a boost from Apple One.

This person seems upset that NASA has a budget of $22.6 billion. Apparently he or she has never seen the US annual budget. $22 billion is a rounding error. The US spends $3.6 trillion per year on health care expenditures. If we shut NASA

A second anecdote. I live in NYC. I've been going on walks, hanging out in the park, going out to eat, stayed in a couple of cabins over the weekend, taken ride shares, dined inside, and traveled on airplanes twice. I don't hav

Well in this scenario I am suggesting that a placebo is a waste of time and we don't need two groups. I am not assuming the vaccine will be 100% effective, or even effective at all. But in order to get meaningful data you can't

It is obvious from these graphs than an overwhelming percentage of political discourse on Twitter is from bots. Just eyeballing it, it seems to be at least 70-90% of inbound mentions are from bots. These bots are obvious enough that we sho

It is easily detected. Neither Twitter nor FB have any (edit: typo) desire to remedy this. These bots are what keep the discourse going.

What you’re describing as “reckless behavior” is just normal behavior in a non-covid world. If vaccine candidates are social distancing, wearing masks, and staying home how will the researchers get the data they need? If you are following “

Can someone explain to me why double blind is necessary or useful for a vaccine trial such as this? It seems obvious to me on something like a pain medicine, but on a vaccine it seem a pointless. Is placebo an actual issue with a vaccine? I

It is the people who want suppression of information. Twitter and FB are responding to user demand. This post has been flagged. People don’t want to see or hear about this. HN may, or may not, remove it. Either way, there are HN users who w
