I can see the issue with animals with brains. However, Oysters/mussels should be separated out of this list as they don't. After watching this Ted video, http://www.ted.com/talks/stefano_mancuso_the_roots_of_plant_... , I think high level

I live right down the street from the datacenter (~ 0.5 miles). The whole area's power was out for a bit, but know more than an hour. My site is having errors.

Really boggles my mind, but I think it has to do with how the recruiters get rated. I imagine the lower the percentage of successful applicants, the lower their performance. I worked there a bit over two years.

There is some flexibility, but they are strict. Strict in weird ways. I'm actually a former Googler who can't get back in because my GPA. Go figure! :-/

I often feel that I lack the delusion to build a premier company. I try to build a great product, but I can usually point out to other companies that do an element of what I do better. Perhaps no more SWOT analyses. Such a weird balance tha

Big pro for me: "Developing for it is easy and consistent across the devices that it runs on, unlike Android, which requires testing and specialized development for each different handset." Big negative: .NET

Reminds me of: "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." (While usually attributed to Mark Twain, the actual source of these words of wisdom is unknown - there is no evidence that Mark Twain ever said this.) from: ht

They even dropped the reduced redundancy storage rate. I wonder if with reduced redundancy and export to your own hardware (using Amazon's sneakernet) you can mimic the standard durability at a lower cost? Maybe too much work.

Once the year is up, you can still get a good deal on AWS by getting a reserved 10GB micro instance for $10.54 per month. You'll also need to pay for bandwidth ($.15 per GB after your first free 1GB) and I/O ($.1 per million requests). htt

Too bad they didn't use EC2 to handle the Renderman Farm. They could have made it a bit easier by using Amazon Web Services own version of a sneakernet, http://aws.amazon.com/importexport/

I agree that there is too much cheesy positive feedback. If both parties are being honest with themselves and reality, negative feedback should be a driver and something that brings about positive change.
