The most interesting part of the article, for me, is that they moved the nexus of their corporation from two tax free states to California. I doubt they realize the tax and legal implications of being residents rather than just visiting CA

Site looks great and service too. One tiny nit on the logo, you should use hexagons instead of pentagons. Lots of hexagons fit together nicely. Pentagons, not so much.

Good question. It appears that they're only spending $3.8 million a year. It'd be great to see them up their program expenses to shrink that surplus.

Someone here once posted this aggregation of subreddits as an alternative: http://www.reddit.com/r/somethingimade+longtext+programming+... It's not a perfect version of 2010 HN, but with some pruning and grafting I imagine it could be clo

Paywalls aren't ideal, but they often have the better content. Easy way to hop over the WSJ paywall: search title on Google, open link in incognito NYTimes paywall: Open link in incognito. After 10 articles, close all incognito windows and

Nice to see another option, but the early termination fee of, "$2376, less $99.00 for each full month of Service completed," is brutal. Source: http://www.gopago.com/merchant-terms-conditions/

I like that Beyond Meat is trying to offer better vegan options. The product looks interesting, but after reading the ingredients, http://beyondmeat.com/products/ , I doubt I will try it. Titanium Dioxide (what color is it normally), Dipo

True. Ironically this will also result in criticism about how Amazon isn't employing enough humans.

If you really need info from Wikipedia, you can cache an offline version before the blackout. I like: http://offline-wiki.googlecode.com/git/app.html

I'm not sure that he had to get a brand new car every six months. He could have created a new lease on the same car every six month from a leasing company. That should have been enough to satisfy the law: http://dmv.ca.gov/fee_calc/feecalc

Minimizing risk should be supreme! It's not worth chasing a few tenths of a percent or spending too much time doing something fancy. Plus doing something fancy usually costs some admin fees. E.g. An extra .1 % on 100,000 is only $100 a year
